OHS Routines, Structures and Safety Procedures: A Review for the New Year!

Hello Raccoon Community!

We made it through our first few days of the new school year and I am so excited for what's ahead. Over the last few days, our Raccoons have had the chance to get connected with classmates and staff, review the importance of our school values of being grounded, committed, and accountable, and had the chance to reflect on our mission of being Career, College, and Life Ready. It’s been a busy few days as we set the stage for the next 9 months together!

As students, staff, and families, it is important that we are on the same page as we work together to make this school year successful. Outlined below are a few reminders and important information about the norms and expectations that help to guide our community. These norms have been either reviewed in class these last few days or will be discussed in the upcoming week as we ease into the routines of the new school year.

If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to me, your associate principal, or your counselor.

It’s going to be a great year!

Jason

Campus Safety and Security
Today during RCC, we reviewed all of our campus safety routines and procedures. Having such a large campus with two different buildings requires us to be diligent in ensuring our campus remains safe. Below are just a few quick notes about campus safety:

  • We will conduct drills throughout the year to practice our safety routines and procedures. This includes:

    • Severe Weather Drill (April)
  • Unannounced K-9 Searches
    • In partnership with the Oconomowoc Police Department and the Waukesha County Sheriff’s Office, our campus will be searched by K-9 units for illegal drugs. These unannounced searches will consist of the campus being placed on a non-emergency lockdown so that the K-9 units can search our parking lots, locker rooms, and/or classrooms.
