Updates from OHS: Back to School Reminders and Events (Open House, Schedules for September 2 and 3, Homecoming Information)

Hi everyone!

Welcome to the 2025-2026 school year! While we have already been in touch about the details for the upcoming school year, I wanted to share some additional information regarding:

Open House and Picture Make-Up Day

As you prepare for the new year, feel free to reach out to myself, your associate principal, or counselor at any point. Remember, you can click here to schedule an appointment with your counselor. We are all here to help you!

Open House - Tuesday, August 26, 2025
Teacher Meet and Greet & Club Fair from 2:00-4:00pm
Self-Guided Tours of Campus from 4:00-6:00pm

Swing by our Open House on Tuesday, August 26, to familiarize yourself with campus, walk your schedule, and meet up with staff members and friends. Our teachers will be available from 2-4pm, but the building will remain open until 6pm. At Open House, we encourage you to complete any of those last-minute back-to-school tasks that need to be completed. This includes:

Attend picture make-up day and get your new ID in the Main Campus Cafeteria from 2-6pm.
Pick up your parking permit in the Main Office.
Transfer students can swing by the Raccoon Exploration Center (REC) to pick up their school-issued Chromebook.

Freshmen First Day of School on Tuesday, September 2, 2025
Only freshmen report to campus on Tuesday, September 2, for their first day of school. All freshmen students are asked to be in the Fieldhouse lobby by 7:15am. Below are some details for the day:

Buses will run on their normal schedule, or freshmen can be dropped off in front of the Fieldhouse.
Freshmen do not need to bring their school supplies or Chromebooks.
Students can bring a lunch or purchase one from the cafeteria.

Below is a rough schedule for the day:

7:20am-9:00am - Freshmen Welcome Assembly
9:00am-11:00am - Class of 2029 Orientation from Upper Classmen
11:00am-11:40am - Lunch
11:45am-2:10pm - Exploring our Values: Grounded, Committed, and Accountable
2:10pm-2:35pm - Chant and Cheer Lesson from Student Council

First Day of Classes for All Students on Wednesday, September 3, 2025

Everyone should report to their Block A/Hour 1 at 7:20am on Wednesday, September 3. We will start the day with our school news on RCC before following a mostly regular schedule throughout the day.

Club and Extracurricular Exploration & Registration Opportunities

Check out the 2025-2026 Club Catalog to learn about all the clubs and activities being offered this upcoming year. In addition, we will have Club Fairs on campus at the following days and times:

Tuesday, August 26 (2-4pm) during Open House
Tuesday, September 2 (1:20-2:00pm) during Freshmen Orientation
Friday, September 5 (8:55-9:25am) virtual overview during Community Meeting
Tuesday, September 16 (11:00-11:30am) - during Lunch on the Tuesday of Homecoming Week

Supply Lists
We do not have a universal supply list at OHS. Rather, teachers will reach out to you directly if there are supplies needed for a specific class.

Grade Level Specific Supports to Start the Year
Remember, each grade level has specific programs and supports to help their transition to the new school year. Check out your grade level supports below:

Freshmen: Click here for the Class of 2029 - Raccoon Ready Transition Page. On this site, you can find out details about the first day of school and register for your upcoming Family Dinners that occur between August 11 and August 20.
Sophomores: Counselors will be in touch this October about your one-on-one sophomore family meetings.
Juniors: Click here to register for the Junior Family Career and College Readiness Workshop scheduled for Wednesday, August 27 at 6:30pm in the Oconomowoc Arts Center.
Seniors: Click here to register for the upcoming Senior Family Night on Wednesday, September 10 at 6:30pm in the Oconomowoc Arts Center. This night is designed to help you prepare for the transition from OHS to college, military, apprenticeship, and/or the workforce.

Homecoming: Happy Birthday, Ocon - 150 Years Young (September 14-20)
Remember, Homecoming is early this year! The party starts with downtown window painting on Sunday, September 14, and runs through the Dance on Saturday, September 20.
