Hi Raccoon Community!
Outlined in this message are all the important dates and information you need to kick off the 2026-2027 school year! Don’t roll your eyes! Sure, I know it's early in the summer, but we are Raccoons who are committed to our goals, and the back-to-school events, programs, and fun start in early August! So, while I hope you take some time to relax, recharge, and have some fun, please mark down these important dates as you build your summer calendar, and get ready for the next steps (or first steps!) of your high school journey.
Information in this letter includes:

- The first
day of school for Freshmen & Transfer Students (only Freshmen and new students report to OHS) is on
Monday, August 31, 2026.
- The first
day of classes for everyone (and first day of school for
Sophomores-Seniors) is on Tuesday, September 1, 2026.

Office Hours & Contact Information (Office Hours are Mon-Fri 7:00 a.m.-1:00
p.m. from June 15-July 31)
- Counselor and
Associate Principals (Contact Info Here): Counselors and
Associate Principals will be available from time to time throughout the
summer. Expect a 1-3 week response to any emails or questions. If you have
immediate questions or concerns, reach out to Mr. Curtis or call our front
office, and they will be happy to assist you.
- Last Names A-D (Reminder: New Counselor Starting this Summer): Students with the last names A-D should contact our counselor, Mrs. Verhagen (verhags@oasd.org), with any questions. I will be in touch once your new counselor is hired and ready to assist you!
Visit our Back to School web page for details on the 2026-27 registration process. Keep in mind that we will transition to a new Student Information System called Infinite Campus, and annual registration will be your first opportunity to access this new system.
Raccoon Check In Day: Photo Day, Schedule Release, Registration Support, and Material (Parking Pass/Yearbook) Pick Up (Wednesday, August 5, 2026, from 11:00 a.m.-6:00 p.m. in the Gale Douglas Fieldhouse):

Report to the Fieldhouse at your assigned time to get your yearbook photo taken, your student ID for the upcoming year, pick up your 25-26 yearbook, process and get your parking permit, and take care of any other needs as you prepare for the new year.Once you have completed the registration process, your schedule will be visible on Infinite Campus at about 10am on this day. Counselors will be available in the Cafeteria 150 if you have any questions or need to connect with them.
It’s a fun day to catch up with your counselors and OHS staff, so we look forward to seeing you there. If, for some reason, you are out of town and on vacation, email Mr. Curtis (CurtisJ@oasd.org) to arrange for an alternate time to collect your materials and for details about picture make-up day.
Open House (Tuesday, August 25, 2026 from 2:00-4:00 p.m. with Self-Guided Tours from 4:00-6:00 p.m.)
Freshmen Orientation, New Student Orientation, and First Day of Classes
Only Freshmen Report to OHS
- The Class of
2030 will report to OHS for their first day of high school on Monday,
August 31. Buses will run their normal routes, and students are expected
to be in the Gale Douglas Fieldhouse lobby by 7:15 a.m.
- It is not
necessary to bring any school materials or supplies. We will run our
normal lunch operations if a student would like to purchase lunch, or they
can bring their own.
Orientation for NEW to OHS Sophomores, Juniors, and Seniors (Monday, August 31, from 10:00 a.m.-2:30 p.m.)

- Our new
students who recently moved to Oconomowoc, or students who are
transferring to OHS, are invited to campus on Monday, August 31, for
orientation. The goal is to welcome you to our community, ensure you are
set up for success on the first day of classes, and learn more about our
school culture. Please register using the link above.
- Participating
students should report to the lobby of the Oconomowoc Arts Center at OHS
by 10:00 a.m. The program will end at 2:30 p.m., and students can either
take the bus home, be picked up, or leave on their own.
- Please note
that lunch will be provided!
In addition, new sophomores, juniors, and seniors are invited to a new-student family dinner on Monday, August 24, at 6:30 p.m. Click here to register.

Save the date for Homecoming 2026! This year, we will celebrate the fact that no matter where our life journey takes us, Oconomowoc is always home! We will honor the OHS Classes of 2020 and 2021 as our Grand Marshals. The Class of 2020 lost out on the spring of their senior year and never had a classwide graduation, and the Class of 2021 never had a senior year Homecoming.

To help with the transition to high school, we welcome our newest Raccoons and their families to attend a Freshmen Family Dinner. This event gives you the opportunity to meet with Mr. Curtis, your Associate Principal, your assigned Counselor, and upperclassmen, as we review the ins and outs of OHS. During dinner, we will discuss the schedule and logistics, followed by a preview of your first two months of high school and how they set the stage for the next four years!
Registration for the family dinners is below. It would be best if you registered for your Family Dinner with your assigned counselor. However, you are welcome to come to any of them.

Fall CCLR Day: Career and College Visits on Tuesday, October 13
Individual Sophomore Family Meetings this Fall
During
your sophomore year, we will support you in further developing your Academic
and Career Plan. Each sophomore will have the opportunity to attend a Career
and College visit during our Career, College, and Life Readiness Day on
Tuesday, October 13. Click here to

Your counselors will meet with you in mid-September to help you get ready for
this opportunity. In addition, each family will get a one-on-one meeting with
their counselor this fall/winter. Sometime in early October, be on the lookout
for details about registering for your Sophomore Family Academic and Career
Planning Meeting.
Career and College Readiness Workshop on Wednesday, August 26, at 6:30 p.m. (REGISTER HERE)
- How the ACT
test, course selection, and extracurricular involvement contribute to your
profile in the college application process.
- Support that is
available to help you improve your ACT score.
- Reminders about
programs and opportunities at OHS that might give you a competitive
advantage when applying for career and college opportunities, including
Youth Apprenticeship, Life Ready Leadership Programming, Capstone
Experiences, and other opportunities that our students have. We have so
much to offer, so let’s make sure we align your academic and career
planning strategically.
Graduation Preparation Planning Night on Wednesday, August 12, at 7:30 p.m. (REGISTER HERE)
Just
like that, it’s your senior year! Whoa! We encourage families to register for
this night to hear more about the transition from OHS to career, college, and
life! During this night, we will talk through the:
- Application
process for college, apprenticeship, and military opportunities.
- Upcoming events
and opportunities to learn more about financial aid, scholarships, and
other transition supports.
OH, and save the date for the OHS Class of 2027 Commencement Ceremony on Saturday, June 5, 2027, at 10:00 a.m. in Rux Stadium. Watch for additional information in early December.
