Tuesday, June 16, 2026

Hi Raccoon Community!

Outlined in this message are all the important dates and information you need to kick off the 2026-2027 school year! Don’t roll your eyes! Sure, I know it's early in the summer, but we are Raccoons who are committed to our goals, and the back-to-school events, programs, and fun start in early August! So, while I hope you take some time to relax, recharge, and have some fun, please mark down these important dates as you build your summer calendar, and get ready for the next steps (or first steps!) of your high school journey.

Information in this letter includes:

  • Summer contact information for Counselors and Associate Principals
  • Details about registration, picture day, and open house
  • Information about the first week of school
    • The first day of school for Freshmen & Transfer Students (only Freshmen and new students report to OHS) is on Monday, August 31, 2026.
    • The first day of classes for everyone (and first day of school for Sophomores-Seniors) is on Tuesday, September 1, 2026.
  • Grade-level specific programs and event registration

I know this is a lot of information, but you have a few months to sort through it all. If you have any questions or need anything this summer, please reach out to me at CurtisJ@oasd.org.

Have a great summer, and we will see you soon!

Go Raccoons!
Jason

  • Counselor and Associate Principals (Contact Info Here): Counselors and Associate Principals will be available from time to time throughout the summer. Annual Student Registration (July 15 to August 5, 2026):
Visit our Back to School web page for details on the 2026-27 registration process. Keep in mind that we will transition to a new Student Information System called Infinite Campus, and annual registration will be your first opportunity to access this new system.

Raccoon Check In Day: Photo Day, Schedule Release, Registration Support, and Material (Parking Pass/Yearbook) Pick Up (Wednesday, August 5, 2026, from 11:00 a.m.-6:00 p.m. in the Gale Douglas Fieldhouse):

Click here to register for an arrival time for Raccoon Check-In Day. Report to the Fieldhouse at your assigned time to get your yearbook photo taken, your student ID for the upcoming year, pick up your 25-26 yearbook, process and get your parking permit, and take care of any other needs as you prepare for the new year.

Once you have completed the registration process, your schedule will be visible on Infinite Campus at about 10am on this day. Counselors will be available in the Cafeteria 150 if you have any questions or need to connect with them.

It’s a fun day to catch up with your counselors and OHS staff, so we look forward to seeing you there. If, for some reason, you are out of town and on vacation, email Mr. Curtis (CurtisJ@oasd.org) to arrange for an alternate time to collect your materials and for details about picture make-up day.

Staff will be in their classrooms/offices from 2-4pm before heading out to the open houses at our other district sites or to watch our sporting events. However, the building will be open until 6pm for self-guided tours.

Homecoming 2026: From City Lights to Ocon Nights
Sunday, September 20-Saturday, September 26

Save the date for Homecoming 2026! This year, we will celebrate the fact that no matter where our life journey takes us, Oconomowoc is always home! We will honor the OHS Classes of 2020 and 2021 as our Grand Marshals. The Class of 2020 lost out on the spring of their senior year and never had a classwide graduation, and the Class of 2021 never had a senior year Homecoming.

Current students get the opportunity to celebrate the legacy and traditions of Homecoming. Click here to check out all the details, but save the date for our major events:

  • Sunday, September 20: Window Painting at 5:00 p.m.
  • Thursday, September 24: Powderpuff at 6:00 p.m.
    • Watch for the sign-up link soon!
  • Friday, September 25: Homecoming Friday!
    • Pep Rally at 8:55 a.m.

Juniors and their families are invited to the Oconomowoc Arts Center for a comprehensive review of their transcripts and current academic performance. This will give you a chance to self-reflect on your progress and understand the various opportunities and supports we have in place to help you meet your career and college goals. At this meeting, we will review:
  • How the ACT test, course selection, and extracurricular involvement contribute to your profile in the college application process.
  • Support that is available to help you improve your ACT score.
  • Reminders about programs and opportunities at OHS that might give you a competitive advantage when applying for career and college opportunities, including Youth Apprenticeship, Life Ready Leadership Programming, Capstone Experiences, and other opportunities that our students have. We have so much to offer, so let’s make sure we align your academic and career planning strategically.
