Monday, October 30

Hello Raccoon Community!

It was an exciting weekend to be a Raccoon!

  • Our Boys’ Cross Country team took 3rd in the State Tournament on Saturday!
  • Our Swim team came in second at the Conference meet!
  • Our Girls’ Volleyball team has once again qualified for the State Tournament! We will return to the Resch Center in Green Bay for the third straight year as we look to win our second State Championship. Information about ticket sales, buses, and commemorative t-shirts is below.

Volleyball State Tournament Information

The first game of the tournament will take place on Thursday, November 2 vs. Burlington at 1:00 p.m. in Green Bay at the Resch Center.

Yes, this is during the school day…so here is our game plan. We know that our loud and proud student section has been a big part of our girls’ volleyball team’s success over the years. Below is our plan to adjust our exam schedule to provide students the opportunity to go to Green Bay or watch the Livestream in the Cafeteria on Thursday afternoon.

Modified Exam Schedule

  • Click here to view the modified exam schedule for Thursday. Please note:
    • We will start our day at our normal time of 7:20am instead of our exam start time of 7:30am. This will allow us to move up our class times and allow students who want to attend the game the opportunity to leave early and finish their exams!
    • We will administer all Block C exams during the first half of the class (Hour 5) so that exams finish by 10:35am. Students going to the game will be excused for Hour 6. Students not attending the game will report to Hour 6 as normal or stay in Block C and use the second half of their class as a time to study for Friday’s exams.
    • Students who are taking a Block C exam who qualify for extended time should arrange to take their exam on Friday afternoon.

Attendance Procedures

  • If you register for the Fan Bus, there is no need to submit an absence request for your student. If your student is driving themselves, or you are driving them to Green Bay, please submit your absence request through Family Access online. Please try avoiding calling our attendance line since we can only receive so many voicemails.
  • We ask that you submit your absence request as soon as possible so that we can process them in time for dismissal on Thursday.
  • Students attending the game will be listed as excused for a school activity.
  • The game will be streamed for its entire duration in the Cafeteria beginning at 1:00pm for those who cannot make it to Green Bay.

Ordering Tickets, Fan Bus Reservations, and Commemorative T-Shirts

  • Student Fan Bus Tickets ($4.50): TICKET SALES ARE LIVE NOW! Students can reserve their spot on the Fan Bus through the webstore linked below. We have 225 seats available, but we will try to make more available if needed. Families, this is the safest (and most fun!) way for students to travel to Green Bay. Please encourage your Raccoon to travel with our community!
On Thursday, please meet at the Gale Douglas Field House at 10:40am. Buses will depart OHS at 10:45am and will return to OHS about 2 hours after we finish loading the buses in Green Bay.

CLICK HERE to reserve your bus ticket.

  • Commemorative T-Shirts ($10)- On Sale Wednesday in The Den 11am-6pm: T-shirts will be on sale in our school store, “The Den”, on Wednesday, November 1 from 11am-6pm. We have limited quantities of each size, so come early. If we sell out, there is plenty of other spirit wear on sale!

Match Tickets ($11.50): Tickets should be purchased through the link below. When you click the link, be sure to enter the promo code S2GTEAM1. Using this code will cover your service fee. You can also purchase tickets at the Resch Center. (Note: There will be a different process for ordering tickets on Friday and Saturday. Watch this blog for details!).

CLICK HERE to purchase your game tickets.

Enter Code: S2GTEAM1

 Send-Off and Additional Information

Finally, our entire community is invited to OHS for the send-off at 9:20 a.m. on Wednesday, November 1. Please enter through the Gale Douglas Field House doors. Wear your purple and gold!

If we win on Thursday, we will play Friday night in Green Bay, so we will not need to alter our schedule. This post will be updated with additional information about Fan Bus tickets and ticket details on Thursday evening.

Bob is always someone who is GOING FOR THE GOLD and strives to make our community a better place. Besides his responsibility for supporting the businesses of our community, he serves as a mentor to many of our students as they work to become career, college, and life-ready. He is always finding ways to partner with our various programs at OHS in order to provide students with real-life and authentic learning experiences.
