Attendance Information for Baseball Sectional on Tuesday

Friday, May 31, 2019

Hi OHS Students and Families,

I am excited to share that the Oconomowoc High School Baseball team is playing in the sectional semifinal on Tuesday, June 4, beginning around 1:00 p.m. at Roosevelt Field in Oconomowoc! If the team wins, we will play in the sectional final on the same afternoon at about 4:00 p.m. This is incredibly exciting for our team, school, and community!

We understand that many students may want to attend the game and cheer on their friends and classmates. However, because the game is occurring during the school day and off school property, we do need to be consistent with our attendance guidelines. Parents and students should take note of the following:

  • Parents/guardians may excuse student(s) from school to watch the game through our normal attendance procedure. This procedure includes reporting the absence electronically through Family Access or by calling our attendance line at (262)-560-3102. When you file the absence, please mention that your student is attending the baseball game. By doing this, your child will automatically be excused from school at the end of block C at 1:05 p.m. on Tuesday.
  • To limit the number of disruptions during the day, students will not be issued passes and should plan to leave at the transition between blocks C and D. Attendance will be taken as usual at the start of Block D, and any student who left without parent permission will be subject to the appropriate consequence per our attendance policy.
  • It is a busy week in our office, so it would be extremely helpful to our office staff if you could report the absence by 3:00 p.m. on Monday, June 3.
  • Parking on the streets around Roosevelt Field will be limited. Students attending the game are encouraged to walk.
  • Please double check with teachers to ensure that there are not any summative assessments assigned for Tuesday afternoon. Teachers must have final grades reported at the end of the week and will not be available to provide make-up assessments during Pride.
  •  Students who prioritize the game over any exams or projects could significantly alter their final grades in the class.

If you have any questions, please feel free to send me an email at CurtisJ@oasd.org.

Go Raccoons!
