Spring Career, College, and Life Readiness Day (Tuesday, April 16, 2024)
Grade Level Activities Outlined Below
Freshmen and Sophomores: Report to OHS at 7:20am for ACT Secure Testing
Juniors: No School
Seniors: Report to OHS at your assigned time for the Reality Check Simulation

Our last Career, College, and Life Readiness Day is on Tuesday, April 16. Specific grade-level activities to support our vision are outlined below:

  • Freshmen and Sophomores: Report to OHS as normal to take the ACT Secure. This is your opportunity to find out where you stand when it comes to determining your college readiness. The exam will give you insight into your areas of academic strength and areas that may need improvement as you think about preparing for life after high school.

Students can go home after their last exam is finished. However, they are welcome to stay on campus until the buses depart at their normal time of 2:47pm.

Click here to read the letter from Mrs. Anders outlining the schedule and expectations for the day.

  • Juniors: There is no school for Juniors on Tuesday, April 16. We suggest that you take this day to visit a local college or participate in a job shadowing experience.

  • Seniors: Report to OHS at your assigned time to participate in our Life Ready financial simulation known as Reality Check. This experience is done in partnership with several local businesses, our police department, and alumni. It’s an amazing experience and we are excited to offer this opportunity to the Class of 2024.

Click here to view the communication outlining the simulation and to see what time you should

arrive on Tuesday, April 16, 2024. The simulation experience usually lasts about two hours for our seniors.  After seniors complete the simulation, they are released for the rest of the day.

Seniors should arrive at their assigned time and be dressed in business casual attire. There will be upcoming Pride sessions for all seniors beginning the week of April 1st to learn about the simulation and to complete the introductory steps for the day.
