Congratulations to our Volleyball Team, who will be representing
our community at the 2019 State Volleyball Tournament! The girls won their
sectional on Saturday night against Manitowoc Lincoln and have now earned the
right to compete for the Division 1 State Title! Our first game is on Thursday
at 4:00 p.m. versus Kettle Moraine. If we win, we will play a semi-final game
on Friday at 7:30 p.m., with the chance to play in the State Finals on Saturday
at 7:30 p.m. All games will be held at the Resch Center in Green Bay.
Details about the upcoming celebrations, tournament,
transportation, and tickets are outlined below. Please consider joining us!
Team Send Off - Thursday, November 7 (8:35 a.m.)
The team will parade down Raccoon Runway into the Gale Douglas
Fieldhouse as our school community wishes them well at the tournament. The
parade will start at about 8:35 a.m. Parents and
community members are invited to join us. Please check-in at the main office by
8:15 a.m. if you plan to attend.
Modified Daily Schedule on Thursday
Since hundreds of students will likely want to attend the game, we
will run a modified daily schedule in order to maximize instructional minutes
and minimize the disruption to our day. We are shifting Pride to the end of the
school day, from 1:40-2:40 p.m. with the expectation that students will attend
all, or most, of their core classes before departing for the game. The
complete schedule for the day is available by clicking
here.
Tickets ($10.00)
Tickets for the first game on Thursday, November 7, can be
purchased on the OASD webstore between 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 5, and
10:00 a.m. on Thursday, November 7. Tickets purchased online must be
picked up at the Oconomowoc High School Athletic Office by 12:00 p.m. on
Thursday, November 7. The cost of a ticket is $10.00. You can click here to
access the webstore.
The OHS Athletic Office will be open until 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday,
November 6, so that you can pick up tickets.
There is a competition among schools to see who can sell the most
presale tickets, so consider helping us earn the $1,000 prize and purchase your
tickets early!
Tickets for Friday, November 8, and Saturday, November 9, must be
purchased at the Resch Center directly.
Student Fan Buses
We have 96 seats available on the student
fan buses, which will depart around 1:15 p.m. on Thursday, November 7. The cost
is $3.00 to ride the bus and tickets must be purchased from the OASD
webstore. They are available on a first come, first served basis. If your student
plans to take the bus, please purchase the Student Fan Bus and Ticket
Combination for $13.00.
Students riding the bus will be dismissed from class at the end of
7th hour (12:50 p.m.) and should report to the lobby of the Gale Douglas
Fieldhouse. We will load the buses and plan to depart promptly at 1:15 p.m.
Parents will need to call the OHS attendance line to excuse their student from
class, please help out our staff and notify the attendance office by 5:00 p.m.
on Wednesday night.
Students Driving Themselves
If students are planning on driving to Green Bay themselves,
parents will need to follow our normal attendance protocols and call the office
to report the absence. Students who have been excused by a parent/guardian will
be allowed to leave at the conclusion of 8th Hour (1:30 p.m). Again, please
help out our staff and make these calls prior to 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
Details for Potential Games on Friday, November 8 & Saturday,
November 9
Because Friday and Saturday’s games are scheduled for the evening,
we will likely be able to run up to 4 fan buses each night. This would allow
for 196 seats to be available to students. Our tentative plan is to depart
at 4:45 p.m. from the entrance of the Gale Douglas Fieldhouse. Reservations and
payment should be made on the webstore prior to 4:00 p.m. each night. Specific
plans will be announced early on Friday morning and also posted on my blog.
Oconomowoc High School has not won a team state title since the
1980’s. Let’s show up to Green Bay united as a community as we work to break
this streak!
If you have any questions please feel free to send me an email at

See you Raccoons in Green Bay!
