Happy New Year! As we reconnect after the winter break, I want to remind everyone of several important events and opportunities as we kick off 2024. Check out the reminders below regarding the course request and scheduling process for next year, details about exams and the end of the semester, and life-ready resources to help students and families.

Planning for 2024-2025: Course Request Supports

CLICK HERE for the overview letter and details sent to students and families on Monday, November 27. Highlights of this letter and details are below:

 

College Admissions Night (Wednesday, January 3, 2024 at 6:30pm in the OAC)

*Note location change from the REC to the OAC.

Come meet with admissions counselors for area colleges and universities and hear recommendations on courses and programs of study that can help bolster your college application. Universities planning to attend include: UW-Madison, MSOE, Marquette, UW-Whitewater, Carroll, and UW-Stevens Point. You will get the chance to ask questions and learn more about their recommendations on what classes at OHS will bolster your college application.

Program Information Night (Wednesday, January 10 at 6:30pm and 7:30pm at East Campus)

Come learn about the various programs we offer that support students prepping for 2 or 4- year college, the workforce, apprenticeship, or military pathways. We will be offering information about:

• Youth Apprenticeship Opportunities
• The IB Diploma and IB Career Programs
• Global Scholars
• ACT Prep
• Oconomowoc Virtual Learning Community
• Military Recruitment Supports

 

Each session will be offered at 6:30pm and 7:30pm, so feel free to sign up for up to two sessions. Click here to register.

 

Course Request Process (Monday, January 29)

On Monday, January 29, current students will start to request classes for the 2024-2025 school year. Counselors will be live streaming into classrooms during our community meeting on this day to help with the selection process. Each student has a course request paper form that families should review and sign before courses are entered into Skyward for the 2024-2025 school year. 

 

Term 2 Exams and Modified Schedules (Thursday, January 18 and Friday, January 19)

We will run a modified schedule for our term 2 exams on Thursday, January 18 and Friday, January 19. Students are welcome to leave once the exams are done. Buses will still depart at 2:47pm. 

Report cards will be published on Tuesday, January 30.

New Semester Begins on Tuesday, January 23

In addition, the new semester will begin on Tuesday, January 23. Students will report to their Block A/Hour 1 Classes by 7:20am.

• Friday, March 1             No School- Professional Development Day
• Tuesday, March 12        Career, College, and Life Readiness Day- Details coming in mid-February
• Thursday, March 21        Term 3 Exams- Day One
• Friday, March 22             Term 3 Exams- Day Two

 

Spring Break is Monday, March 25 through Monday, April 1, with classes resuming on Tuesday, April 2.
