Throughout the end of May and into early June, we have several celebrations planned. Please check out the details below and watch for continued updates throughout the spring.

I am so proud of each of you, and I look forward to a fun spring ahead! As always, please email me at CurtisJ@oasd.org if you have any questions!

CLASS OF 2021 COMMENCEMENT CEREMONY

SATURDAY, JUNE 12 AT 10:00 A.M.

OHS RUX STADIUM

The Commencement Ceremony for the Oconomowoc High School Class of 2021 will occur at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 12 at Rux Stadium. Seniors should report to the Gale Douglas Field House by 8:45 a.m. in cap and gown.

Below are some important details about the event. Our ceremony will follow the Waukesha County Public Health guidelines that are in effect in June. The ceremony may look a little different from years past, but we’re so excited we can come together as one class to celebrate these amazing Raccoons.

Event Protocols and Logistics

  • There are more students in the class of 2021 than in years past, and seating will be spread out. Due to this graduating class size, it is possible the ceremony could last up to 2 hours and 15 minutes.
  • At this time, each graduate will be allocated at least 6 tickets for guests. We will continue to monitor the current guidance and regulations set by Waukesha County Public Health. Based on the current guidelines, we simply need to ensure that we can allow for 6ft distancing between family groups. We are rearranging our traditional set up and bringing in extra bleachers in order to maximize seating availability. We will for sure offer a lottery for any unused tickets, and if possible, increase the ticket allocation for each graduate. We will be in touch regarding how to request tickets by May 7 at the latest.
  • Based on our current policies, masks or facial coverings must be worn at OHS, which includes Rux Stadium. However, at the very least, Seniors will be able to remove their masks for when they walk across the stage, collect their diploma, and for their professional photo.
  • You can preorder flowers for your graduate at: https://www.thecommencementgroup.com/oconomowoc/. You will be able to pick up your flowers on graduation day at OHS.
  • The ceremony will be livestreamed so that individuals who cannot attend can watch this special event live.
  • In the event of inclement weather, the ceremony may be postponed to later in the day. If the weather forecast calls for rain and thunderstorms throughout the day, the ceremony will be moved to Sunday, June 13, with a tentative start time of 10:00 a.m. However, our primary goal is to have the event on Saturday, even if that means it happens later in the evening.
  • Diplomas will be available to pick up in the Gale Douglas Field House after the ceremony.
  • I will contact seniors about the dress code, cap decoration, and other important details in late May.
