Summer vacation is a time to unwind, have some fun, and seek a little balance in your life. I hope the upcoming months give you a chance to reconnect with family and friends and recharge your batteries for a new year filled with new adventures, opportunities, and experiences.

While the next few months are about fun and relaxing, it is also a busy time filled with vacations, jobs, camps, and other events. In order to help with your planning process, we want to make sure you have all the details about our Back to School 2025 operations and events.

Our School Year Kickoff Team has been meeting since January to ensure that every Raccoon has a successful start to the 2025-2026 school year. Information in this letter includes:

  • Summer Contact Information and Counselor/Associate Principal Assignments
  • Registration, Picture Day, and Open House Details
  • First Week of School Information and Schedules

Summer Construction at OHS - Updates on Projects and Building Access

Monday, May 19, 2025

Hi everyone!

This upcoming summer will be busy around our Main Campus as we finish up the facility projects approved in the April 2023 referendum. Here is a quick update on the construction that will be occurring at OHS this summer.

Roof Replacement
Over the last year, the crews have finished replacing the roofs over the cafeteria and our north, south and west campuses. Crews will work to replace the roof on the east side of Main Campus by the back parking lots during the summer.

HVAC Replacement

Last summer, we were able to complete the HVAC replacement project on the first floor. While we started the year without air conditioning, we will have air conditioning in the building soon, including this summer, and moving forward. Phew!

This summer, crews will be replacing the HVAC system on the second and third floors of Main Campus. This is a big undertaking and likely means that those areas of the building will not be accessible to students, staff, and families until late August. However, this is the last phase of the project.

Windows and Classroom Doors

All the windows at Main Campus and a majority of classroom doors will be replaced. The new windows and doors will help improve energy conservation and the safety and security of our building.

Gale Douglas Fieldhouse Upgrades

Our construction partner, CG Schmidt, made a generous donation to provide a much-needed new sound system in our Gale Douglas Fieldhouse. Other additional projects occurring in the Fieldhouse include new LED lighting and new sound panels. We are so thankful for the sound system from our construction partner!

We are pushing for these projects to be worked on and completed towards the end of July, when we typically have fewer scheduled events in the Fieldhouse. At this time, we don’t have a clear completion timeline, but we anticipate these projects will be completed this summer.

Summer Office Hours and Parking
The weight room, fieldhouse, fieldhouse lobby, tennis pavilion, and all outside fields will remain accessible for summer school classes, summer camps, O-Power, and community events. We ask that students, staff, and guests park in the south parking lot when accessing campus this summer.

All academic summer school classes will be held at East Campus.

The Main Campus front office will be open this summer. Hours are listed below:

  • Monday, June 9-Friday, June 13 from 7:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.
  • Monday, June 16 -Tuesday, August 5 from 7:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. on Mondays-Thursdays
    • NOTE: The office will be closed Monday, June 30 - Friday, July 4.
  • Wednesday, August 6 is Picture Day and Registration from 11:00 a.m.- 6:00 p.m.
  • We will resume our normal 7am-3pm hours beginning on Thursday, August 7.

We are in the home stretch of these projects, and I am so thankful to everyone for their help, support, and patience as we navigated all the construction over the last two years.

Thanks!
Jason

Class of 2025 Commencement Ceremony

Saturday, June 7 at 10:00 a.m.- Rux Stadium
We will gather one last time to celebrate at the Oconomowoc High School Class of 2025 Commencement Ceremony. There are so many details and logistics that help make this event special. I will share specific details again in mid-May and again in the weeks leading up to the ceremony. However, please take note of the following important initial details:

  • Seating: Seating is on a first-come, first-served basis. However, seating is unlimited, and graduates can bring as many family members as they want. The gates to Rux Stadium will open at 6:00 a.m. In addition, we will livestream the ceremony in the air-conditioned OAC, which will open at 8:00 a.m.
  • Accessible Seating: We have seating available for those who cannot climb the bleachers. Families are asked to make a reservation for accessible seating by emailing Christine McCartney at McCartnC@oasd.org. In addition, golf carts will be available to help transport guests with limited mobility from the front entrance of Rux Stadium to the accessible seating on the field.
  • Commemorative Flowers and Items on Sale NOW: Order flowers or other commemorative items through this link. Items will be available for pick up at the entrance to Rux Stadium on graduation morning.
  • Livestream: The ceremony will be broadcast on our livestream link (click here) and will be accessible to friends and family who cannot be with us in person.
  • Inclement Weather: In the event of rain and thunderstorms, we will delay the start of the ceremony. Our primary goal is to hold the ceremony on June 7, even if that means the ceremony starts later in the day. However, if the day is a total washout, we will reschedule the ceremony to be held on Sunday, June 8, ideally in the morning. However, we have to consider the schedule of our outside vendors and contractors when establishing a new time for the ceremony. If the weather cooperates, the ceremony will be held at Rux Stadium, but if storms and rain are predicted for that time, we will move the ceremony to the Gale Douglas Fieldhouse.  Please keep these contingency plans in mind when making travel arrangements and plans for your graduation parties!
  • State Track Meet: While seniors who qualify for the State Track Meet may miss the Commencement Ceremony on Saturday, June 7, we will still honor them! During the graduation ceremony, we will have the chairs decorated of those seniors who are at the State Track Meet and their names will be called as part of the formal ceremony. In addition, Mr. Curtis will have a smaller commencement ceremony for any of our State Qualifiers, teammates, friends, and families on Sunday, June  8 at 11:00 a.m. in Rux Stadium. More information will be shared after sectionals.

Account Access and Fee Payments
A reminder that all fees must be paid by Friday, June 6. In addition, your school Gmail accounts and files will no longer be accessible as of Friday, June 27. Please make arrangements to transfer any files, pictures, and documents from your Google Drive before June 27.
