Hey Raccoons!
Our third Career, College, and Life Readiness Day of the year will
be on Tuesday, March 3, 2020. This date coincides with the statewide
administration of the ACT exam to all juniors. At OHS, we will run a specially
designed schedule to support our juniors who are required to take this
important exam. Assignments and schedules for each grade are outlined below.
Please see below for grade level-specific information about attendance
expectations and the career, college, and life readiness opportunities our team
has planned for you.
Freshmen and Sophomores
Freshmen and Sophomores are not required to report to school on
Tuesday, March 3. Instead, they are encouraged to engage in one of several
career and college readiness opportunities suggested by our School to Career
Coordinator, Mrs. Kyla Stefan.
Please click here to view
these suggestions provided by Mrs. Stefan.
Buses will operate under their normal schedule and routes. You are
welcome to come to OHS and work on any assignments or suggested activities.
Please bring your own lunch and report to the Library by 7:20am.
Juniors
As mentioned before, all juniors will take the ACT exam on
Tuesday, March 3. Students should report to OHS at 7:20am as normal. The exam
will start promptly at 7:30am and should finish at 12:30pm. Juniors will be
allowed to leave at 12:30pm, however, since buses will be running on their
normal schedule, they are welcome to work in the library until 2:40pm.
Mrs. Anders has outlined all of the expectations for the
administration of the exam. Please click here to
learn more details about the exam and what to bring that day.
Seniors
Seniors will participate in our annual Reality Store simulation.
This experience is designed by our Building Leadership Team in partnership with
dozens of businesses and community partners across the Oconomowoc area. This
fun activity provides our soon-to-be graduates with a real-life simulated
experience in which they must manage their finances based on career choices,
basic life needs, and unexpected events. Seniors will be required to report at
their designated time and the event will last about 2 hours.
Please click here to view
additional details and to find out your assigned time.
For your planning purposes, our next Career, College, and Life Readiness
Day will be on Tuesday, April 7. This day will be designed to give our Freshmen
and Sophomores time to complete the ACT Aspire exam and for our upperclassmen the opportunity to participate in the Global Youth Service Day. More details will be shared in
mid-March.
Have a great day!
